If you’re careful in parking outside of the gates just off Highway 26, you’ll be rewarded with a magnificent day of nordic skiing, snowshoeing or a walk.
Yes the gates are still locked but…
…just to the right is a path to a well-hidden outhouse for the pioneers in the crowd.
Past the gate to the right (down the hill),
…left by the Springwater Park – Camp Nibi sign,
past the cenotaph…
…around by the main pavillion and Camp Nibi have been plowed recently so the walking is pretty good.
While there note the teaching lodge, sweat lodge and tipi.
The main road to the left of the main gate has had a path cut into it for easy walking. A three foot walking path on the main road: so far from the top near the gatehouse to the head of the trails.
Lots of cross-country and snowshoe tracks.
If you find a tree down across the 14 kms. of tails, do something about it so everyone can enjoy unhindered skiing this winter.
At the very least, text me at 705 624-2242 and we’ll see what we can do about it at least during the season holiday.
