Springwater Township, Ontario, Canada

Thesis:

  1. The Midhurst Secondary Plan, MSP is a violation of provincial growth plans.
  2. The Province of Ontario broke their own rules when they dropped the appeal of 50 per cent of the MSP.
  3. The closing of Springwater Provincial Park and the MSP are related.
  4. The MSP is the tip-of-the-iceberg of the “unofficial” plan for Simcoe County.
  5. Barrie will annex Springwater Township (attempt to resolve 1. to 4.).

Assumption:

Short-term concentrated corporate interests can temporarily subvert provincial, county, and township representative democracies (diffused power). All taxpayers will pay in the long-term for this multi-level opportunism (deceit with self-interest) delivered via credence good providers.

Terry Craig sings of a Midhurst that existed at one time but is eternal, in a sense.

The community will follow a muse’s re-awakening. It has no choice.

Broken churches cannot be healed with propaganda and counter-propaganda.

Fascists are quelled (both sides) through the intervention of community muses and educators.

The Muses  in Greek mythology, poetry and literature, are the goddesses of the inspiration of literature, science and the arts. They were considered the source of the knowledge, related orally for centuries in the ancient culture that was contained in poetic lyrics and myths.

The Greeks got it. The Old “Midhursters” and Springwater Park – Camp Nibi has it too.

He calls them by name and they respond.

They have no choice.

In August 2013, Terry confirmed for me that this song reflects the beauty of Finlay Mill Road, from Bayfield Street, past Willow Creek and onto Doran Road.

The Old Midhurst Road

If you’ve walked down the Old Midhurst road
Then you’ve learned enough to teach the young and old
That in the autumn of the year when the sun is so sincere
And the colour seems to hypnotize your soul.

Then you can let a little something with your time
Fall into the arms of the living.
Let a little sunshine fall again your way to show you’re proud.
Just to walk down the Old Midhurst road
You’ll realize you’re in an atmosphere alone.

But if you’ve got the time to spare to breathe the fresh clean country air,
Then a mile or two ahead won’t seem so far.
